The SEED Collaboration Space has programs designed for four groups of entrepreneurs:

  • Students (Student Associates)
  • Start-up companies (Basic and Full Memberships)
  • Early-stage companies (Basic and Full Memberships)
  • Former SEED Tenants (SEED Graduate Member)


Student Associates

The Student Associates program is designed for students currently enrolled in a college or high school.  Upon acceptance into the SEED Collaboration Space, the Student Associate will complete an innovation and business plan course, participate in monthly professional development sessions, and undertake monthly progress and milestone reviews.

Entrance criteria:

  1. Current student enrolled in college, community college or area high school.  If the applicant is a high school student less than 18 years age, a parent or guardian must sign the associate agreement or lease agreement and participate with the student.
  2. At least one founder and or majority owner must be a student in good standing and actively pursuing a degree.
  3. Must have the potential for business growth and job creation.
  4. Student Associate applicants are required to complete an application that will be reviewed by the SEED Collaboration Sapce staff.

 

Basic and Full Memberships

Basic and Full Memberships are for entrepreneurs at the start-up and early stages of growth.   Upon acceptance into the SEED Collaboration Space, the Basic and Full Memberships will complete an innovation and business plan course, participate in monthly professional development sessions, and undertake monthly progress and milestone reviews.

Entrance criteria:

  1. Currently a start-up or early-stage technology or knowledge-based company that intends to market products and/or services.
  2. Must have the potential for business growth and job creation.
  3. Business plan must have realistic product development/service timeframes and financial projections.
  4. Basic and Full Associate applicants are required to complete an application that will be reviewed by the SEED Collaboration Space staff.

 

Former SEED Tenants

SEED Graduate Members are companies that have moved into the community but would like to participate in SEED programs, have access to SEED Collaboration Space resources, and share their experiences with current SEED members.

 

Expectations of SEED Collaboration Space Members

  1. Passion to develop a viable business that will create wealth and jobs.
  2. Commitment to participate in SEED Collaboration Space programs and events and share ideas/experiences with fellow associates.
  3. Complete Assessment by PCC, ECU or other organization identified by SEED.
  4. Complete monthly reviews.
  5. Actively participate in SEED events and program offerings.
  6. Agree to seek and accept assistance from SEED Collaboration Space staff and its network of mentors and resource providers.
  7. Follow all policies of the SEED Collaboration space and comply with local, state and federal laws.
  8. Pay rent and other fees on a timely basis.

 

Businesses Not Eligible for Student Associate, Basic or Full Member Levels

  1. Accounting, tax, legal, counseling, retail financial services including insurance, real estate brokering, medical counseling, and medical treatment, spa services, personal grooming and care, and other professional service businesses as determined by the Board of Directors.
  2. Gambling or businesses involving wagering.
  3. Retail sales that use the SEED Collaboration space as the storefront (an e-commerce business is permissible).
  4. Restaurant, catering or food or beverage preparation.
  5. Non-profit businesses.

  

Application

Admissions Process

1.              Submit online application.

2.              Participate in face-to-face interview or telephone interview if requested.

3.              Decision by SEED within two weeks of application and interview.

4.              Sign lease agreement with SEED.
